The World Internet of Things Top 500 Ranking List (WIOTRL Top 500) was established by the World Internet of Things Convention (WIOTC) in 2017. It aims to guide governments and enterprises worldwide in building IoT digital economy, encourage innovative development of global digital technology companies, promote the transition and upgrading of digital economy, promote the United Nations Global Digital Cooperation Goals and Sustainable Development Goals, and contribute to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.

The WIOTRL Top 500 has been released for 10 years in a roll, attracting active participation from over 100,000 enterprises across more than 100 countries. It has become a hallmark of the innovative development of global intelligently interconnected digital economy. Over the years, companies on the lists have grown into a major force in the innovative development of global digital economy and a key driver of socioeconomic progress.

Starting in 2024, the WIOTRL Top 500 has incorporated new dimensions such as digital economy performance and cutting-edge high-tech advancements. A committee comprising over 40 members from more than 20 countries evaluates candidates based on established ranking criteria, including R&D achievements, technological innovation, contributions to the digital economy, sustainable development, and industry impact, to select 500 globally representative enterprises. This not only highlights the brand influence and global innovation capabilities of digital technology companies but also reflects the trends and landscape of the global digital economy.
